to IBET - Illinois Birders Exchanging Thoughts
Hello Bird People,
Back to close to home local birding. Started at River Trail N.C. for
land birds & then to Opeka & Axehead Lakes for water birds. Did ok but
saw nothing special.
River Trail Nature Center (8:50-10:15 am)
Canada Goose (8), Goldeneye (1-F) & Red Tailed Hawk (1) (Along the river)
Mourning Dove (4)
Red Bellied Woodpecker (3)
Downy Woodpecker (1-M)
Hairy Woodpecker (1-M & 1-F)

Blue Jay (2), Chickadee (1) & W.B. Nuthatch (2)
Robin (6, coming in for water)

WHITE THROATED SPARROW (4)

Lake Opeka (11:35 am-12:05 pm)

So 30 species at my 3 locations plus 2 roadside additions for a total
of 32 species.
Bird-Of-The-Day to the White Throated Sparrows & Runner-Up to the Flicker.
