I expect that everyone who posts sightings on eBird received this text but, just in case, this might be an opportunity to ask questions/ express concerns about Merlin.

Put Merlin to the test in this free, live virtual event! Can an app outsmart our panel of experienced birders and a live audience?

Put Merlin to the test with a virtual bird ID trivia game!

The Cornell Lab’s Merlin Bird ID app is powered by machine learning. Can an app outsmart our panel of experienced birders and a live audience? Join us online Tuesday, Jun 6 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time for a virtual bird ID trivia game. Using bird photos and sounds, we’ll see who can correctly identify the most species. The game involves audience participation, so come ready to play! During the game, we’ll learn how Merlin “decides” on an ID, and panelists will share their tips for sleuthing out tricky birds by sight and sound. This virtual event is free to attend, and closed captioning will be provided.

Can't make the event time? Never fear. This event will be recorded and posted within a few days on YouTube and on the Live Events Archive. Registered participants will also receive a link to the recording of the event shortly after its conclusion, even if they can't attend!

    See you on the Livestream,
Your friends at the Cornell Lab
