Wood Dale Reservoir Complex (7:30-9:55 a.m.) (With Luis M.)

Reservoir Only

Canada Goose (~350)
Mallard (24)
Gadwall (1-F)
Green Winged Teal (7)
Common Merganser (1-F, very good at catching fish!)
Cooper's Hawk (1)
BALD EAGLE (1-AD)
Red Tailed Hawk (1-AD)
Ring Billed Gull (18)
Herring Gull (7)

Middle Pond Area
Nothing at all.

Itasca Wetlands

Mallard (3-PR) & Red Tailed Hawk (1-IM)

Land Birds

Mourning Dove (3)
Downy Woodpecker (1-M)
Blue Jay (4), Crow (6) & Chickadee (H-1)
Cardinal (2-PR)
Tree Sparrow (8) & Junco (13)
Goldfinch (6)

Only 19 species at the Reservoir today as land birds seem to be
winding down & duck numbers haven't taken their place yet. At least we
had 3 species of raptors.

Bird-Of-The-Day to the adult Bald Eagle who flew in & sat in a big
tree so we could see it better.
Runner-Up to the fish catching machine that was the female Merganser
who caught 4 fish in less than 10 minutes.
