Hello Bird People,
Today I went with David Johnson to a section of Lakewood F.P. on
Millennium Trail going north from Rt 176. Clay Colored Sparrows have
been seen here & I needed one for my year list. It was a long walk but
the trail was a good one & so I made it ok. Finally, when the trail
was nearing Fairfield & Bonner Dave picked out one Clay Colored
Sparrow which never sang.
Lakewood/Millennium Trail (7:45-9:50 am)

Turkey Vulture (1, soaring)
Red Tailed Hawk (1, hunting)
Mourning Dove (1)
Eastern Kingbird (2 or 3)

Briefly saw a swimming shorebird which soon disappeared. Maybe a Phalarope?

So 35 species at my two locations plus roadside Pigeons for a day's
total of 36.
Bird-Of-The-Day to the Clay Colored Sparrow & Runners-Up to the "heard
only" Gallinule, the Rose Breasted Grosbeak & whatever that swimming
shorebird was?
