to IBET - Illinois Birders Exchanging Thoughts
Hello Bird People,
Just did a feeder watch at River Trail N.C & then checked Lake Opeka.
Thought I was done but I saw on Discord that a Shrike was seen at Air
Station Prairie & since that place is close to home I went there too
but luck was not with me as I failed to find the Shrike even though
others did find it both before & after I was there. I'll have to try,
try again!

Mallard (12, in the river)

Red Bellied Woodpecker (2)
Downy Woodpecker (1-M & 1-F)

WHITE THROATED SPARROW (1 & heard another)

PURPLE FINCH (1-M, rear feeders)

House Sparrow (~30)
Lake Opeka (11:45-noon)

Goldeneye (14)
Ring Billed (2) & Herring (38) Gulls
Air Station Prairie (2-2:45 pm)
Cooper's Hawk (1)
Flicker (2)
Robins (15) & Starlings (~35)
So 23 species at my 3 locations plus roadside Pigeons for a day's total of 24.
Bird-Of-The-Day to the nice pinkish Purple Finch & Runners-Up to the seen
White Throated Sparrow & the two Flickers. No awards for the missing Shrike.
