Hello Bird People,
Went with Luis M for our weekly visit to Wood Dale but had to leave
early to chase after a rare bird or two which I'll do another report
on later.
Wood Dale (7:15-9:30 am)
Reservoir Only
D,C. Cormorant (21)
Great Blue Heron (5)
Great Egret (also 5)
Canada Goose (287)
Mallard (14)
Green Winged Teal (2)
Killdeer (17)
Ring Billed (26) & Herring (1) Gulls
Middle Pond
D.C. Cormorant (5)
Great Blue Heron (1)
GREEN HERON (1, getting late)
Mallard (3)
Kestrel (2, together)
Itasca/Western Wetlands (Only partly covered as I had to leave)
Great Blue Heron (1) & Great Egret (1)
Mallard (2)
Killdeer (3)
Land Birds
Some interesting birds were Eastern Phoebe, House Wren, Cedar Waxwings
& Indigo Bunting.
Warblers were Tennessee (1), Magnolia (1), Blackpoll (1), Yellow Rumps
(3) & Palms (2)
So 39 species for me but Luis stayed longer & had 47 species.
Bird-Of-The-AM to the Indigo Bunting & Runner-Up to the slightly late
Green Heron.
