Hello Bird People,
Another Montrose Monday & although I didn't see anything special I did
see a good selection of land birds including several that were new for
the Fall. However, the only shorebird was a fly by Killdeer.
Montrose Beach & Hedge Area (6:45-11:15 am)
Canada Goose (~45, on the beach)
Mallard (3)
Blue Winged Teal (1, with the Coots)
Redhead (1, also with the Coots)
Coots (7, fish hook pier)
Cooper's Hawk (2, together)
Peregrine (1, fly-by)
Killdeer (1, fly-by)
Ring Billed (~150) & Herring (6) Gulls
Rock Pigeon (2)
Yellow Bellied Sapsucker (1)
Downy Woodpecker (1)
Hairy Woodpecker (H-1)
Flicker (3)
Eastern Pewee (1)
Eastern Phoebe (1)
Chickadee (5)
Red Breasted Nuthatch (H-1)
Brown Creeper (2)
Winter Wren (1)
Golden Crowned (6) & Ruby Crowned (2) Kinglets
Swainson's (5), Gray Cheeked (1) & Hermit (1) Thrushes

Warblers seen were N. Parula (1).Tennessee (1). Nashville (2), Magnolia (3),
Chestnut Sided (2), Black & White (2), Yellow Rumped Myrtle (8), Palm (10) &
Northern Waterthrush (1)

White Throated Sparrow (10)
House Finch (1-M)
Goldfinch (4)
House Sparrow (4)
So 42 species for the day at Montrose & no additions.
Bird-Of-The-Day will be the Winter Wren which was my 1st of the Fall.
Runner-Up to the Parula & The Sapsucker.
