Hello Bird People,

Took my shorebird finding tour to Montrose Beach today but I again
found few shorebirds.
With August coming soon I hope to do better in the future.

Montrose Point (6:15-10:30 am)

D.C. Cormorant (1)
Canada Goose (~45)
Killdeer (5)
Semipalmated Plover (1, only a brief visit)
PIPING PLOVER (only Frankie is still here)
Spotted Sandpiper (3)
Ring Billed (230) & Herring (5) Gulls
Caspian Tern (1, on the beach early)
Kestrel (3, together near the protected beach)
Mourning Dove (2)
Ruby Throated Hummer (3)
Chimney Swift (1)
Downy Woodpecker (1)
Flicker (1)
Purple Martin (~20)
Rough Winged (2) & Barn (10) Swallows
Blue Jay (H-1)
Chickadee (2)
House Wren (1, going into a nest hole when not singing)
Robin (12)
Catbird (1)
Starling (4)
HORNED LARK (1-AD, on the public beach)
Warbling Vireo (2)
Cardinal (3)
Red Wings (6) & Grackles (2)
House Finch (5) & Goldfinch (3)
House Sparrow (15-18)

So 32 species at Montrose & two roadside additions for a day's total of 34.
Bird-Of-The-Day will be the well seen Horned Lark & Runners-Up to the
last remaining
Piping Plover & the Hummingbirds.
