Hello Bird People,

Saw reports from here that there was a Long Billed Dowitcher & a
Cackling Goose being seen so I thought maybe I could find them too.
Found the Dowitcher but not the little Goose. Walked the whole 2 mile
loop path as I haven't been here in a few years so I wanted to see the
entire place. Had to wait to get in as the gate is supposed to be open
at 6:30 but wasn't unlocked until 7:15 am.

Pine Dunes F.P. (7:15-10:30 am)

P.B. Grebe (4)
Great Blue Heron (3)
Canada Goose (~225)
Wood Duck (14)
Mallard (8-10)
Green Winged Teal (2)
Blue Winged Teal (12)
Ruddy Duck (1-F)
Turkey Vulture (1, soaring)
Sandhill Crane (H-2)
Killdeer (groups of 6 & 3)
Greater Yellowlegs (1)
Lesser Yellowlegs (1)
LONG BILLED DOWITCHER (1)
Wilson's Snipe (3)
Kingfisher (1-M)
Blue Jay (4)
Starling (14)
Common Yellowthroat (1)
Savannah Sparrow (1)
Song Sparrow (4)
LINCOLN'S SPARROW (1)
Swamp Sparrow (2)
Red Wings (45-50)
Goldfinch (6)

So 25 species at Pine Dunes & 2 more roadside additions for a day's
total of 27.
Bird-Of-The-Day to the Long Billed Dowitcher & Runner-Up to the
Lincoln's Sparrow.
This is a good place for Nelson's & LeConte's Sparrows but I can no
longer get off trail
to look for them. And if you go off trail the police give you grief anyway.
