Just a short visit to Montrose today before the heat got too intense. Wanted to see the baby Piping Plovers while they were still tiny as they grow so fast.
Had to wait on the pier side of the protected beach for about one hour but eventually I did get to see the three little bundles of downy feathers running around feeding & getting quick drinks of water.
The only other shorebirds were
Spotted Sandpipers & Killdeer & they were being constantly chased by Sea Rocket & Imani.
Also Tree, Bank, Rough Winged & Barn Swallows, a few Ring Billed Gulls & three Caspian Terns.

So Bird-Of-The-Day will be the entire Piping Plover family.

Thank you Al, I eagerly wait for this day each year!  It’s an honor for us.
