Urgent: Support Chicago's bird-friendly building ordinance (NO SIGHTINGS)

Hello IBETers,

This may have been shared here previously, but wanted to make sure you were aware of the current effort to get a bird-friendly building ordinance passed in the City of Chicago to reduce bird collisions with buildings along our crucial migratory corridor.

This ordinance is urgently needed to make bird-safe design elements mandatory for all new construction in Chicago. This fall is a big push to finally get this ordinance across the finish line, led by Chicago Collisions Coalition and signed on to by 39 coalition partner organizations to date. 

Please consider taking the following actions THIS WEEK:

• If you live or work in Chicago, send a letter to your alderperson. Easy template letter here: Make Chicago's Buildings Safer for Birds
• Share the action page and form letter with your friends and family who live or work in Chicago! Action page, including support on advocating with your alderman for the ordinance: https://chicagocollisionscoalition.org/

• Post both links on any social media you use with a message about why we need to protect Chicago’s birds!
