to IBET - Illinois Birders Exchanging Thoughts
Hello Bird People,
Finally got my Real ID in the mail so I can once again get into
FermiLab. And I'm pleased to report that the Loggerhead Shrike family
decided to wait for me to see them as three were present today. Bob E
picked out one on a fence post but far to the north in the Bison
field. While looking at it in the scope two more (young ones?) flew in
& sat with the first one. Never thought they'd stick around this long!
Not many other birds today but I did have Field, Savannah & I heard a
Henslow's Sparrow. Also heard one Marsh Wren but did not see it. Quite
a few Killdeer around the Wilson's Hall area.
It was nice to be back at FermiLab as I hadn't been here since 2023 &
I used to visit a lot.
Only 15 species at FermiLab plus 3 more roadside additions for a day's
total of 18.
Bird-Of-The-Day to the Loggerhead Shrike family & Runner-Up to a Dickcissel.
License Plate Of The Day to one from Rhode Island which was #50 for
the year with Wyoming the only one I am still missing.
