to IBET - Illinois Birders Exchanging Thoughts
Hello Bird People,
Just a short report today from Montrose Beach & Dunes.
Arrived at 6:45 & left by 10:15 am.
Shorebirds seen were Killdeer (2-AD & 2 young), Piping Plover (Imani &
2 chicks),
Spotted Sandpiper (4-AD & 1 young), Least Sandpiper (4-5) &, best of
all STILT SANDPIPER (2)
which Demond had a nice photo of.
Also a Green Heron & 7 Great Blue Heron (Demond had many more) & the
usual group of regular species. Did not check the Hedge Area.
So 26 species at Montrose plus 3 roadside additions for a day's total of 29.
Bird-Of-The-Day will be the Stilt Sandpipers & Runners-Up to the
Piping Plover family.
