HOODED WARBLER (1-M) (FOY)

Then to Darrell Road Marsh to try for the Whistling Ducks. Could not
find them for quite a while but then Rick W found them asleep & hidden
in the grass. Finally they woke up & showed themselves & their orange
bills as we watched.

Also here were Canada Goose (1), Wood Duck (4), Blue (1-M) & Green
(1-M) Winged Teal.
Mallard (~55) & Shoveler (1-M)
Killdeer (1), Greater (2) & Lesser (15) Yellowlegs
Pectoral Sandpiper (5) & Dunlin (1)
Short Billed Dowitcher (5)
And finally saw a pair of BREWER'S BLACKBIRDS (FOY)

So 65 species for the day & 7 new year birds.
Bird-Of-The-Day will be a tie between the Black Bellied Whistling
Ducks & the Hooded Warbler as I have never had such a good look at
that species which is usually high in the tall trees.
