Where's your tree?

I saw a brown creeper (immature, I think) on the ground at State and Hubbard in downtown Chicago yesterday afternoon trying to find a foothold on a metal barrier. After a bit, it flew to a light pole, scaring a pedestrian walking toward me, and hung on for a bit, then flew off. I hope it found a tree.
