Light rain this morning so I again just did local lakes where I can
view from or near the car.
Axehead Lake (10-1015 am)
Canada Goose (2)
Mallard (1-PR)
Ring Necked Duck (10)
Pigeons (~65)
Lake Opeka (10:20-11 am)
Horned Grebe (1)
Canada Goose (15) & Mallard (55)
Lesser Scaup (36), Redhead (19) & Ring Necked Duck (21)
Goldeneye (22)
Common (1-M & 1-F) & Red Breasted (9) Mergansers
Ring Billed (8) & Herring (2) Gulls
Mourning Dove (1)
Downy Woodpecker (H-1)
Cardinal (H-1) & House Sparrow (8)
Beck Lake (noon-12:10 pm) (First day with open water)
Canada Goose (51), Mallard (6) & Red Breasted Merganser (23)
Ring Billed (2) & Herring (7) Gulls
Red Wings & House Sparrows
Big Bend Lake (12:15-12:50 pm) (Also the 1st day with open water)
Canada Goose (10-12) & Mallard (1-PR)
Greater (2) & Lesser (9) Scaup
Goldeneye (8) & Red Breasted Merganser (57)
Ring Billed (24) & Herring (4) Gulls
Pigeon (1), Chickadee (H-1) & Cardinal (H-1)
So 20 species at the four lakes plus one roadside addition for a day's
total of 21.
Bird-Of-The-Day will be the Horned Grebe & Runners-Up will be all
those Redheads,
Ring Necked Ducks & Scaup.
