Hello Bird People,

The one & only target for today was the Cerulean Warbler being seen at
the start of Cap Sauers F.P. just opposite the Teason Woods parking
lot. Arrived at 7 am & saw another birder/photographer who said he had
just heard the Cerulean just west of 104th street. Sure enough it was
singing there in the tall trees but sounded like it was at the very
top of those trees.
The other birder left to look for Summer Tanagers but I stuck it out &
in about 15 min I had my 1st look at the Cerulean but it was in motion
constantly & at the very top of the tallest trees. Only once did it
drop down low enough for a good, close look & that for only 15 sec
then back to treetop level. I never expected to see this guy by myself
but I did. Once in a while you get lucky!

I also made short visits to Swallow Cliff & McClaughrey Springs but
only saw the most common of Summer residents. Ended with a short visit
to the Sag Quarries where I saw one Killdeer, 5 Wood Ducks & lots of
Canada Geese including many young ones.

So except for the Cerulean Warbler I saw very little but that's what I
went for so mission accomplished. I had 22 species at my 4 locations
plus 2 roadside additions for a total of 24.
Bird-Of-The-Day to that Cerulean Warbler & Runner-Up to the very
colorful Baltimore Oriole who came in very close.
