MYR Update and return to work

Hi All -

For those of you who are friends w/ me on FB, this is now old news ... for everyone else in the group, I just wanted to let you know that I have been off work since the end of Dec. when I broke my leg in a flukey fall down some steps at my place in Chicago.

I was taken by ambulance to Northwestern and had surgery there in the beginning of Jan. Post-surgery, I suffered a pulmonary embolism which prolonged my stay. I was then transferred by ambulance to a rehab facility in the suburbs nearer to my family where I stayed until February 4th.

I am now at my mom's house, as my place is 2 floors & I can't yet do stairs.  I still can't drive, but I did get clearance to start working part-time from home & going in to the Library a few hours a week. My out-patient therapy & Dr. appts. are sucking up time almost daily, so hard to fit everything in.  I'm currently @ a 50 lb. weigh restriction on my broken leg w/ my knee bend at 102 degrees as of today, so my recovery, while off to a good start, will be a long haul!

In any event, I'm sorry I've been out of the loop. I'm excited about the Unconference plans and approval and look forward to working with everyone and contributing to our group in whatever limited way I can while I'm rehabbing.y work email is a good way to reach me, but if you need to get me by phone, try 815-588-0283 as I'm not yet back in the office.
