What options do I have now? Is it in essence possible to unlock a radio without a code? Are the codes freely available? Should I contact the manufacturer? I tried to google but found lots of crap, deceit and even a malware.

The Ford dealer can do it by using your vehicle serial number, I have no idea what they charge for the service. If you are a regular customer they may be nice and do it for free. An alternative is to remove the radio get the serial number off the radio and use one of the on-line services that provide access codes. If you aren't comfortable removing the radio the dealer may be the best choice. My advice after this is to leave the radio uncoded as the odds of a ten year old radio being stolen are pretty slim.

If you're lucky these are sometimes hand written inside the owners manual or on a a business card that says "radio code" on it that's placed inside the document holder that was supplied with the vehicle.

As with odometer fraud and disabling the immobilizer there is always the option to desolder the EEPROM in the radio, put it in a programmer, dump it and look through it with a hex editor to find where the code is or just modify the firmware to completely bypass the code check.

I have noticed that many ford car owners have problems sooner or later with the codes for their ford radios. I had the same problem and had to pay 45 euros for the code... After that I discovered some online websites that can do that instantly and sometimes for free. You can all try this free websites ->

for Ford Radio CODES such as - Sanyo SAM MODEL, C7 - TravelPilot, BP - Blaupunkt, V and M serial numbers, etc. If I will find more I will complete the list.I hope it will help you in the future and you will keep your money in your pockets.

I was doing a small job on the window and had to disconnect the battery. I now need to enter a correct code into the stereo to get it working - simple right?! I have the code, I entered it as per the instruction manual (I've done this a thoudand times in previous cars too) and its coming up as a wrong code entered (the same code was in both manual which matches the car and on a sticker under the ashtray by the original owner)

Thanks a million, I'll pop into the garage and get the radio pulled out to get the seriewl number, obviously the one in the manual isnt the correct one and my ford radio keys wont work on this stereo for some reason. Thanks a mil, will get back to you soon!

I have the same issue.Recent flat battery means I now have to input the radio code to regain access to audio unit which is a Sony 6000 single CD version.Thankfully I have the original code provided by the dealer at purchase but everytime I enter it the unit does not accept the code.I have tried inputing enough times to be sure I'm not making a mistake. I have also tried disconnecting the battery again but this doesn't change anything. Can anyone offer any advice? I can take it to a dealer but if they just provide me with the same code I am already using then I'm not sure how this will help.3 more attempts until it's locked - yikes! Series number V003599Thanks for any assistanceSimon.

If your code was for example 6875 then you press button 1, six times. press button 2, eight times. press button 3, seven times. press button 4, five times. lastly press button 5 once to enter the code.

Type in the 6 digit serial number and then press button 5 on the radio 'calculate code'.
If the serial has 7 digits then use the last 6 i.e ignore the first 0 after the letter.
To close the program press the volume button 'close program'
To clear the serial press the seek button on the radio.

Morning all. This may well have been asked before but can't find anything specifically, but apologies in advance if it has. I have recently bought a 1.25 Fiesta Style, 2008, lovely little car, for my son's girlfriend. Only one issue, the radio keeps asking for code everytime the car is witched on/off. I do have the code, but there must be a solution to this? Anyone come across this before please? Is it a battery disconnect reset, or is there an aux battery in there or similar?? Thanks all.

One more question please, the colour of the car is Amethyst; I have looked on the forum here how to decode the paint code and V5 doesn't seem to tie up with that. On the Ford site which I found by a post on this forum, the registration number brings up Amethyst. Am I reading the code V5 correctly? Are there more than one shade of this also? Thanks.
