We are pleased to announce the ACM India Joint International Conference on Data Science and Management of Data (CODS-COMAD) 2018 (5th ACM iKDD CoDS and 23rd COMAD), to be held in Goa University on 11-13th January, 2018. This conference builds on the long history of COMAD and CODS conferences towards bringing together the two related communities closer under a common umbrella.
For over two decades, the International Conference on Management of Data (COMAD), modeled along the lines of ACM SIGMOD, has been the premier international database conference hosted in India by Division II of Computer Society of India. The first COMAD was held in 1989, and it has been held on a nearly annual basis since then (except for a few breaks such as in the years when VLDB and ICDE were held in India). COMAD has always had a significant international participation, with about 30% of the papers being from outside India, including Europe, USA and East/South-East Asia.
Conference on Data Sciences (CoDS) encompasses the areas of data analytics, machine learning and managing big data. IKDD shall work with ACM to ensure co-sponsorship and publication of the proceedings of CoDS in the ACM digital library.
TOPICS OF INTEREST
We invite papers reporting original research in all aspects of Data Science and Databases. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
· Databases
Transaction processing, query processing, indexing and storage, distributed data platforms, key value stores, big data systems, data cleaning, data analytics, and data integration, benchmarking, tuning, and testing
· Data Science
Classification and regression, parallel and distributed learning, semi- and unsupervised learning, matrix and tensor methods, graph mining, reinforcement learning, dimensionality reduction, deep learning, Bayesian methods, time series analysis, optimization, and graphical models.
· Applications
Text analytics and NLP, information retrieval, social network analysis, recommender systems, online advertising, bioinformatics, computational neuroscience, systems biology, multimedia processing, crowdsourcing, education, robotics, anomaly detection of storage and networked systems, urban computing, technology for emerging markets.
· Case Studies
For the conference’s industry track we invite papers reporting descriptions of deployments of database and science solutions in industry and government that address real-world challenges and highlight new and important research directions for data science. These case studies could be drawn from areas such as, but not limited to, education, transportation, real-estate, manufacturing, finance, retail, healthcare, e-commerce, telecommunications, social media, law, public policy, and computational advertising.
