It is with great sorrow and sadness we announce that Mathai Orapankal (94), passed away in India. He's the father of Fr. Abraham Orapankal.

Dear Friends,

I am sad to inform you that my father – Mathai Orapankal – passed away today at the age of 94. He is one of the last remaining members of the first Malabar Kudiyettam to Rajapuram in 1943. My mother (Ealy) is from Mulavanal family. I am the oldest among my siblings: Jose (Molly), Gracy (Mathew), Dolly (Jose), Suma (Philip), Biju (Mini), Shiju (Deepa) and Shaju (Bindu). The funeral will take place at 2 pm IST Tuesday, January 12th.

We are grateful to God for his long life and the gift that he was to all who knew him. Thank you for your kind remembrance of my father and of our family in your prayers.
