Im using the v1.0 beta with Openfire 3.6.4. It seems to connect but
when a message is sent to or from the client i get a 404 invalid SID
in firebug.

The older version of ijab works fine.

Also, is the client not persistent between page refreshes/changes
(like facebook chat). I noticed that it just reconnects?

Oops accidentally sent my reply to Dan directly.... d'oh!

Anyway. I was talking to someone on your ijab.im demo about the
openfire issue. He says he fixed it my removing all references to
UTF-8 encoding in the source code fixed the problem with openfire for
him. I imagine this would cause issues because openfire uses
ISO-8859-1.

Hopefully you can get this fixed because this is absolutely perfect
for what I want to use it for. Even if you just release a compiled
version just for openfire if only temporarily. I'm currently pretty
much ready to deploy and this is the only major issue holding me back.

Thanks,
Ben

Any idea when this will be fixed? I would fix it myself but the
precompiled sources for version 1.0 don't appear to available.

Many Thanks, Dan

We would try to fix the "invalid sid" bug with openfire today and I hope it would be release soon.

Fantastic! Thanks Zhan.

Theres a couple of little quirks which is to be expected being a beta
but it works fine with openfire now. Awesome!

Also loving the few little changes you've made, the bar collapsing is
a brilliant idea.

enable_roster_manage:true, didn't do anything for me though, I'm
assuming this is still in development?

Keep up the good work guys!

Thanks,
Benny

Works fine under firefox, seems to disconnect straight away under
safari. Not sure about other browsers tho..?

Appears to be working fine for me with safari 4.0.4. Sends and
recieves messages and the connections been stable for about 5 minutes.
Though I did get an odd bug where a message was echoed back after 1-2
minutes. Haven't seen that with any other browsers.

Disregard. Once you refresh the page it bugs out and does the same
thing that Dan describes.

It's not stable on pause and resume with openfire http-bind.  It will lost connection sometime. So, may be use the
third-party http-bind server to work with openfire is a choice.

You're right! We're still developing roster management functions.

Yes, it's right that Zhong Fanglin said. iJab can't work very well with openfire's http-bind server for resuming connection.

I think also it would be the best choice to use third-party http-bind server, such as punjab.

Does this user have any roster?

Yes the user has other users listed in the roster.

I will try using punjab (which i am failing miserably at installing
under ubuntu) until you natively support openfires http-bind.

Is the source code for this version available online or in the SVN,
i'd be quite interested in helping out.

Many Thanks, Dan

Got punjab working i think, didn't help.

in spark client i can see the user using ijab as online, but messages
are not received by ijab.

Even though a user is online i cannot see them as online in ijab but i
can send them messages.

No idea whats going off, just doesn't work.

I can't figure out what's wrong, but I think maybe the problem is with user's presence XML data, openfire don't want type=available in presence xml data and I don't know it could get the correct user's status or not?

But our test is OK. what's your openfire version?

similar issues.

I left two ijab clients open overnight, one on chrome one on firefox.
The chrome one is still running fine but there appears to have been
some kind of memory leak (firebug said something about variable full)
on firefox which has bugged out and started DoSing my server.
Basically its just hammering it with BOSH requests, one every ~30ms.
Netstat on the server shows a few thousand active connections,
openfires load is ~20% CPU and lightys (proxy) load is about 10%. I
cant see what firebug picked up because there had been about 260,000
connections attempted which is larger than the firebug buffer.

I killed the page about 5 minutes ago and lighty is still trying to
clear the connection buffer. Had I been running apache the server
would have crashed for sure.

Apart from the memory leak have you got ijab working with openfire ok?

Cheers, Dan

It works but probably not well enough to go live with just yet. The
memory leak is a major problem and releasing this code into a live
environment is like potentially DDoSing yourself. Wouldn't be very
smart.

Has there been any suscees in identifying and adressing the memory
leak?
