Not only Canon, but any running machine may encounter issues once in its life, and so today, we'll discuss two common errors in the Canon TS printer series - error code 1240 and error code 1259. Two errors, codes 1240 and 1259, are easy to clear with the given solution here.

Fixing Error Code 1240 in Canon TS Series 

You see the error code 1240 in Canon PIXMA TS because any objects may impede the motion of the operation panel. Make sure your Canon printer is not running any action right now; if you've given a print command, press the stop or cancel button.


To clear the error code 1240, go through the given steps below:-

  • If any object is impeding motion, remove it or keep it aside.

  • Open the operation panel just below the display screen.

  • Tap OK.

  • Make sure you don't close the operation panel during the printing process.

  • Tap stop on the touch screen to cancel printing.

  • Turn off the PIXMA TS printer and turn it back.

  • Try printing again and check whether the error 1240 has been removed.



Fixing Error Code 1259   

The error code 1259 in the Canon TS printer occurs when you mistakenly left the output tray is not pulled fully. It indicates that you don't load paper until the paper output tray is pulled out completely.

How to clear Error 1259?  

 

  • Ensure any object isn't making a disturbance in paper output tray motion.

  • Hold the paper output and pull it out slowly.

  • When you see it's pulled out completely.

  • If any paper is jammed inside, take out the paper and pull the paper output tray.

  • On the touch screen, tap OK in the error message to clear code 1259.

  • Now, load paper (A4 or Letter-sized paper) in the paper cassette.

  • Perform the task you were trying to do before the error.

  • This time you won't see the error on the Canon printer screen.


How to load papers in Canon TS printer models correctly?

Clearing errors 1240 and 1259 isn't enough on your Canon printer. If you don't load papers in the right manner, you may receive another error code on the printer screen. Hence follow the below steps to load papers correctly;


  1. First, turn on your Canon TS printer model.

  2. If it's open, push the paper output tray, then close the operation panel.

  1. Slide the cassette out from the printer's bottom and completely take out the cassette.

  2. Take off the cassette cover.

  1. Now, slide or move the paper guide to the tray's edge.

  1. Depending on your paper size, adjust the front paper guide. E.g., the paper size is A4; slide the paper guide down to the A4 level.

  1. Put the paper on the cassette. The paper should touch the front paper guide.

  1. Now, attach the cassette cover and attach the cassette back to the canon printer.


Now, open a document on your PC or laptop and give the Print command to start printing. If you follow paper feeding this way, your Canon printer won't encounter other errors.
