House Allotment

Meeting for recently advertised house is called today at 4 pm by Chairman Works.

The seniority issue linked with house allotment rules was discussed in an Emergent meeting of FF Executive Committee. It was resolved that any discrimination in counting seniority based on past experience will be discussed in today meeting and it will be insured that if allotment is finalised, no one suffer because of the discimination.

The seniority list is out on internet. If there is any issue to be discussed in the meeting please send information.

I had already sent my formal letter to the Chairman, House Allotment Committee on 23 Oct 2012. Please discuss my case as I am the only sufferer having vast experience but was not eligible A1 category houses earlier. But on 23 Oct. 2012 onward, I am now eligible for A1 category houses. Since house allotment under ongoing advertisement is not yet finalized, I request you to discuss and reconsider my eligibility/seniority for these houses.

There was no case of  50% benefit to non teaching staff. However HAC discussed the issue to recommend modification in the clause discriminating in counting seniority among teaching and non teaching.

Not only Non-Teaching Staff!! Those who joined to this Institute as a Lecturer are also not getting this 50% benefit!

Please see the house allotment rules as approved by the competent authority in the wide notification No. IITR/E&W/HAR/226 dated May 7,2012.

The clause 4.4 is as follows

 

4.4 SENIORITY:

The Seniority shall be determined for each member of the staff on the basis of

following criteria'. 

(a) For Group A Staff: Full length of continuous service in the Institut~ from the

date of entering the pay slab of the Sub-category of his/her group of the

residence for which application has been made plus 50% of duration of

service, if any, in.a lower sub-category of Group' A' in the Institute.

NOTE 1:- For an outside person joining a Faculty post in the Institute, 50% of

following outside service will be added to his service in the Institute for

seniority of house allotment.

(i) Assistant Professors. . .. 03 years

(ii) Associate Professors 06 years

(iii) Professors 10 years

For other 'Group A' Staff 50% of his 'Group A' Govermnent/Semi

• Govermnent service will be added to his service in the Institute. The

advantage of outside service will not be given to contract staff ..

Now I have the following question.

If a faculty/staff joined this Institute as an Assistant Professor On contract, is he/she eligible for Outside 3 years experience? If yes then what is meant by contract staff further when will be his date of joining considered?

 It is quite surprising that you didn't send a reply for my earlier email. Please refer the seniority list of Advt. No. A-24 (2012/V-A)/470 dated 26.09.2012. Also please refer the seniority No. 54 and Seniority No. 95. 

In this case, both joined as an Assistant Professor On contract and both have become regular before this house allotment advertisement. 

Now the person in seniority no. 54 got outside 3 years experience whereas the person in Seniority no. 95 didn't get. How is this possible ? As a faculty forum president, you must reply on this.

The similar problem is occurring for the consideration of abroad Post Doctoral experience in the PB4 conversion.

When will we see the uniform rule?
