No Greetings here since I dont concur with your remarks about the
wonderful faculty at CL Roorkee center [:P]
Puneet Kahlon aka that army-officer-wife is a seasoned campaigner, she
definitely knows about the GDPI process inside out and you all could
benefit from her advice. She used to moderate our GDs and apart from
chipping in with her comments about the topic, she made accurate
remarks about the soft skills of people involved. Do a few GDs with
her and Sanjay Sir, the archi guy. He has been prep. for GMAT for some
time now and knows his stuff. If some of you are uncomfortable with
any topic, ask him to take a session starting from basics. We
benefitted a lot from that.
Yeah...the Boot Camp. I had a nice boot camp since the interview was
well tailored for me. Dhody@CL was successful in making me lose my
cool in the PI and the lesson learnt there served me well therafter.
Talking of Bansal's boot camp <ahem...lets have another forum to
discuss that!>, that was good fun. Make sure you people take feedback
from whoever is giving it. Whether you wanna implement it or not comes
later.
Coming to candies/cookies, Its sad to hear about the gender
discrimination at B [:P]. However, all those with A calls have
something to cheer about: you get candies at A interviews as well! I
still remember mine, no coffee bite has ever tasted better [:D]
Funny thing about L GD: they ask you to write first, talk later. Funny
cos people end up saying everything but what they wrote in the
beginning. Exhibit A: Topic for L GD for me was "First myth of
management is that it exists"
We spent half the time debating if the "it" referred to the myth or
management itself. Half the people had blank sheets after 4 mins and
just managed to scribble something in the end.
Sometimes, you will be asked to summarise the discussion...Do NOT put
in anything from you own thoughts unless you delivered it to the
group. Just write about how the discussion went.
Lets have some more questions guys. Hope everyone has started with the
prep. If you have not, there's nothing to worry cos there have been
precedents [:P] Get started with GDs immediately...we could help you
with topics if you like.
Regards,
Rahul
