Congratulations on being selected to participate in Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2013. While you continue to work on your cars, we would like to highlight some technical comments/areas which you and your team should look into before arriving for the event:
1. The fuel tank should be > 5 cm below the roll bar
2. Fuel hoses should be translucent
3. Bulkhead should follow shape of body cover and there should be no gaps between the driver compartment and engine compartment
4. Safety belt should be fixed to the chassis, not the seat
5. Fuel accumulator should be removed
6. Fuel return line should join below the fuel tank
In addition, we would like to remind you that to be eligible for a track run, all teams must pass a full technical scrutineering on site, meet rules and regulations, as well as safety requirements during the event. You are encouraged to read and understand Shell Eco-marathon rules chapter I and Shell Eco-marathon Asia rules chapter II thoroughly.
We wish you the very best in your preparations for the event and look forward to seeing you this July in Sepang. Do look out for updates in the Shell Eco-marathon Asia newsletter and participate in all the webcasts.
Kind regards
Colin Chin,
Technical Lead, Shell Eco-marathon Asia
