Cycle to Kovalam -- Early Morning Cycling Trip

All members of the adventure club..!! 

Gear up for our next trip. This Sunday, we have planned a cycling trip to Kovalam. The beautiful beach by itself is more than enough reason to be there. Also, enthusiasts have the option of jumping into the ocean with life-jackets from about 3 or 4 km offshore, sailing in a catamaran. You need to be able to cycle about 50+ km during the trip. Limited number of entries shall be selected. So what are you waiting for..? Just the fill the form below to register. 

    What is Catamaran ride or Catamaraning?

    Remember Anjana song from the movie Yuva? Partha mudal naal from Vetayadu vilayadu? if yes you will know what this ride is. You will be taken to the sea, 2km from the shore in a Catamaran/Motor Boat with Life Jackets and you will be thrown into the sea(Optional, you can jump by yourself also)  and then the sea is all yours. A life gaurd will accompany you and trust me, you cant get more than this, dont worry even if you want you cant sink, you cant swim either, all you can do is stay there in water and do all the stunts. A rope will be there for you to hold, so its all safe.

  PRE-REQUISITES:

 

 -- Reasonably good fitness condition 

 -- A good cycle. 

  ITINERARY:

 

- Start off by 5:30am from Taramani gate. 

- Take the ECR to Kovalam and reach by 9:00am. 

- Freak out there till about 12. 

- Lunch from 12 to 1pm (Food will be taken care of by us). 

- Start back and reach insti by 4pm. 

 

 THINGS YOU NEED:

 

- Cap and/or sunscreen 

- Comfortable footwear 

- Water-bottle. Minimum of 1 litre 

- Camera (Optional)

   -  Extra Dress (For Catamaraning) 

- Plastic cover to carry your trash back in 

- Personal medications (if any) 

 RULES AND PRECAUTIONS:

 

- LITTERING IS PROHIBITED. Those who are found strewing litter around shall be barred from all  further IAC activities. 

  
   - Racing is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Defaulters will be debarred from all further IAC activities.

  
   - Turn up on time. Late-comers shall not be entertained. 

  
   - CYCLES WILL BE SCRUTINIZED BEFORE LEAVING. Please make doubly sure that your cycle is in good condition for the trip. Those not satisfactory will not be allowed. The Secretary's decision on this is binding. 

  - Also ensure that you have a comfortable seat on the cycle. 

  - Prefer a cycle with a carrier to keep your back pack on. 

  - Also, prefer racing cycles.

I only register after confirming my availability. My registration will be confirmed only after I pay an amout of 150/400 Rs in advance. If I drop out from the trip I will not expect the cash back. *
