The Chennai Mathematical Institute is offering a series of short-term
courses in the arts, beginning this academic year. Details are given
below. Transport and lunch will be provided.
The CMI Arts Initiative Programme
The CMI Arts Initiative Programme, launched by the Chennai
Mathematical Institute, will provide a space for students,
professionals and anybody else keenly interested in the humanities and
arts to interact and learn from experts in these areas. CMI will
invite distinguished experts from these fields to give a series of
lectures and performances. The first of these courses, on Art
Appreciation, will be offered by noted arts editor, journalist and
curator Sadanand Menon. Lectures for this course will be held on
September 8th, 15th and 29th.

occupation and academic qualifications along with a brief statement of
purpose (not exceeding 250 words) indicating why you are interested in
this course.
Course Fees: Rs 500 for full time students and Rs 1000 for others.
A course on “Reading Ramayana in the 21st Century” by Dr.Arshia Sattar
and another course on Music Appreciation by the musician TM Krishna
will follow later this year.
