Dear all,
Thank you for reconnecting with the Tae-Kwon-Do Club at IIT Kanpur! Balram Sir has been teaching Tae-Kwon-Do at IITK since 1986. Through his tenure, he would have taught to hundreds of students. He is getting old with not many years of service remaining. For all his sincerity, honesty, dedication and affection in his teaching and conduct, I feel motivated to contribute back towards his and his families benefit. I am confident you share the sentiment.
Balram Sir has a modest house in Rawatpur, Kanpur where he lives with his wife and three children. The eldest daughter, Nisha, has finished education and is getting married in the winter of 2010. The two younger children are studying. Led by the efforts of Dr. Tony Thomas, I am coordinating a contribution collection effort to help Sir meet his responsibilities gracefully. Our target is to collect Rs. 2 lakhs towards the wedding of Nisha. Whatever we collect in addition can be used towards other causes such as children's education and retirement benefits for Sir.
While we still work out the exact mode of transferring contributions to Sir's account, I have created a web form to estimate the total contribution we are able to collect at this point. Please fill the form at
http://www.cs.ucla.edu/~manub/tkdclub/form.html There is, of course, no obligation to contribute. Please note that this contribution will go directly to Balram Sir and is not routed through IITK or the Tae-Kwon-Do Club in any way. Once we have worked out the mode of transfer, we will ask you to do the actual transfer. For any questions or suggestions, you are welcome to write to me at
manu...@gmail.com or Tony at
tonyth...@yahoo.com.
Thank you for your willingness to help,
Manu Bansal
P.S.: Some of you have already transfered money directly to Sir's account. It would help if you still filled out the form with the same amount as you contributed. Thanks.
