hi all!
can someone suggest a stable version of dc++ which can be used to
download from windows machines on the hostel lans.
i use dc++ 4.04.It crashes all the time.

Hi.
Try valknut. I think it is the best DC++ client for linux. It supports multi-downloading and is stable. Other less popular clients are Linuxdcpp , DCPlusPlus etc. which will give you problems in one way or the other (less search results, connectivity issues, crashes etc).

But if you are too lazy and if you want a definitive answer, valknut
(latest vesion was 0.3.13) works great. I have used valknut and tell
you for a fact that it works.

I would also encourage you to try hacking the code and implementing at
least fake share to work for you :)
