May I know if you have root permissions? If you have root permissions in the particular Red Hat Machine, it is possible to reset the folder permissions.

I am not pointing out one person, this applies to most of the posts on this group.

1. Please do not top post -- top post means writing your reply above the old message -- think before writing your reply if you use gmail in particular. It makes it very convenient for you to fall in the trap of top posting (it makes two blank lines available when you click on reply, tempting you to start writing your reply there -- I'm sure this is the case with other mailing services as well)

2. Please snip out irrelevant parts -- this means delete all irrelevant messages from the previous mail(s) that get automatically embedded. For your 1 line reply (ignoring the sometimes 10 line long signature), your reply sometimes comes out to be more than 20-30 lines at times! Just because google mail (or any other service) hides it for you while rendering the page (the - Show quoted text -) doesn't mean it's not there.
For example, you can follow the recent "listen songs" thread and see how long the replies are at the bottom few posts.

3. Please use proper english and respect other members -- we (most of us) are not typing from small portable hand held devices so you can't use the SMS excuse. Please write complete sentences and be respectful to others who find the time to answer your queries. We want to have a healthy cooperative group here where meaningful discussions can take place.

There are lots of other things to watch out for but I these are some recurring problems.
