I was looking for Sun JDK and apparently it is in this repository
"deb http://archive.canonical.com/ lucid partner"

is it possible to have the same available at the IITD Mirror

if lucid is in iitd repo (which I think it is), you could consider
using the relevant openjdk packages. That will give you a java jdk.

yes, but certain libraries are not available in the openjdk.
i have openjdk installed on my system
