Hi,
My pursuit for a regular venue and location for next meetup  has led me to following  options so far

1) http://www.sarai.net/ had a conversation with them they do not have a PA system and projector is also not working , still i am awaiting to get a date and booking details with them.

2) USO House  : here i had a conversation with Mr Rajan Singh regarding venue as well as FOSS as a more sustainable business model in context of SME's , he was more than happy to extend and support us for the meets this is what he has to say .

"Dear Mr. Satyaakam Goswami,

Let me thank you for the visit to our office. Listening to you on various issues/aspects of FOSS community  was very interesting.
You informed on  the interest of having a regular meeting point for the geek community on monthly basis. This can be arranged and we can have it on second Saturday of every month from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Kindly confirm from your side.

During discussions , I have informed you that Secretariat  of "Network of ICT Entrepreneurs and Enterprises(NITEE)"  will be  extending full help in taking care of
(i) venue level arrangements
(ii) maintaining regular database of participants
(iii) sharing the agenda of upcoming meet to all stakeholders in Delhi-NCR (from NITEE data base) for wider and vibrant participation.

For  the benefit of more understanding on our part  kindly  let know the web site of the community and   include us to the community group  mail as well.

Lastly, the most important thing remains the

(a)  Participation for which invitation should reach out to almost all IT professionals, students, faculty, entrepreneurs  in Delhi-NCR. How to do so?----- kindly share as many contacts you have in database  to supplement the NITEE ones

(b) Sustainability of venue level arrangements: As informed to you that NITEE believes in making technical communities more vibrant and regular in their physical get-togethers. NITEE is already supporting some communities regularly since six-seven months like NULL+h4ck3r, gamers etc. It has been observed that on an average expenses of Rs. 5000/- per meet takes place for venue level arrangements. You may suggest the persons in various companies and/or government departments which can be approached by NITEE secretariat with a proposal to sponser these expenses.

i am ok with 12 Feb as the date so as a community we have two actions to take, in next two days.

1) Decide on the venue
2) Decide on the date

It is my deep request to the organisers and the community to not arrange the meeting between 9th-13th Feb as i am having my college exams. If  the community can consider my deep request as i want to participate in the meetup too , i would really be thankful to all.

Yes, I too won't be able to come on that day, if it is possible and
venue can be arranged, we can have a GM on 6th Feb, because most
probably it will coincide with Debian "Squeeze" release, so that we all
can celebrate the release too!

Yeah 6th is too early, well the only reason I suggested that was to
celebrate the Debian "Squeeze" release, rest 13th Feb. is fine for me!

PS: Well, IMHO, We can celebrate the release on 13th Feb. also.

To all.
Lets not have a tradition to find a date which satisfy
everybody. We can have one "FIXED" meetup at Everymonth. So decide
like 2nd Sunday of Everymonth is the date for GeekMeetup. This was
also discussed last time too. So lets not discuss which date is
suitable to whom. Everymonth 2nd Sunday, full day full enjoyment.
Having a fix date have lots of advantage.

1) We need not to select date
2) We are mentally ready for a date
3) In every possible date, somebody will be having problem, even in
some 2nd sunday, I will not be able to attend. So Lets not search
date..

Infact It will be great, If we guys able to fix a FIXED venue too. So
this way we can have tradition.

Yeah,we can manage to come even if the meet is on 13th.Though that would mean rushing straight from the exam centre to GM venue but still that would be manageable.Anyways, waiting for the next meetup and if it is second sunday again,i might miss that one too because of KDE conf in Bangalore from 9-13 March. :(
