You can do following:

If you teach using Slides then you can do following:
  • Make points in Slides. Use a rule of 6 X 6 --> 6 Bullets at max with 6 words approx.
  • Use animation if needed to improve visual retention.
  • Adopt Teaching / Learning pedagogical techniques like Think-Pair-Share, Predict-Observe-Explain, etc.
You can also use following techniques to increase students' engagement
  • Use tools like Mentimeter, Kahoot, etc. for taking some live input from students for simple questions.
  • Use 5-minutes both in start and in end to recall What students had learned in previous lecture and What they learned in current lecture respectively.
  • Make students recall it as mentioned in the above activity

There are many more techniques to increase student retention and engagement. These are some of the few that I prefer. You can explore more of it on internet.

Dear Suchita,

This is really a good question and it can have many ways to reply to it.

One way can be to break it into smaller manageable chunks so that you give space for your students to reflect and learn from
the session. At this point you cav be able to include activities, such as questions which will make them reflect and note the points down before moving
to the next chunk. This process is called chunking.

You can read more about What is Chunking? Why and How of chunking by going through this section of this self-paced online course.

Thanks,

Course Team
