As seen in moodle, how can i make students to enter the paragraph / short answer in the space provided in google form. Mostly students copy and paste the required data in the space provided instead of entering the text manually

check students answer with Plagiarism checking software and if found same with  something already published/ ame as in web page , reduce the credit marks  or warn them.

You may do following to avoid it:

  • Try to make specific questions which may not be available on the internet.
  • Try to specify the do's and don'ts of answering beforehand so that students do not follow these types of malpractice
    • If they follow then put some strict actions ready for it and also make them aware of it before they submit the assignments
  • Try to combine different questions and make a specific structure of answering which students have to follow compulsorily with examples.
    • You can provide various domains which they can select for giving example on and it should be unique for each student or for a group of students.
  • Try to use software which help you find plagiarism.
  • Google Classroom provides plagiarism check support for these types of questions by providing Originality reports.
  • Following is the text taken from a Google Classroom account:
    • You can turn on originality reports for 3 assignments per class with a G Suite for Education account.
    • To get unlimited originality reports per class, ask your admin to upgrade to G Suite Enterprise for Education.
