Hi all,
This is to call for a meeting to discuss the proposal for setting up of a new group/body for Language learning on campus, primarily to meet the huge demand for the same.
We had talks with the DoSA regarding a preliminary version of what we presently call the "Languages Cell" (still looking for a better name!) and got his written approval for the same. Prof. Yajnik said that funding should also not be a problem. The "Language Cell" as I envision it has the following broad aims. This is of course subject to discussion and revision.
To facilitate students and other linguistic enthusiasts of the campus community learn Indian and foreign languages by coordinating with the conduction of professional / informal language classes.
To serve as a platform where participants will be able to learn languages informally from their peers. (A Hobby club aspect)
To conduct workshops, movies screenings and other events promoting linguistic learning and appreciating linguistic diversity.
Venue: Brewberrys
Date & Time: 10th October, 9 PM
I request everyone to please make it convenient to attend. If the timing is inconvenient to you, kindly do let me know.
Regards,
Nivvedan Institute Secretary, International Relations +91 98207 22103
