Dear All

Here are a few general tips I would like you to observe while making presentations:

1. Always speak while facing the audience, and not with your back towards them

2. If you need to consult your hand-written notes, be absolutely sure that you know exactly which page you want to look at; do not fidget around with papers.

3. Make as much eye-contact with your audience as possible.

4. Practice and rehearse in front of a mirror, or better, before (or with)  a friend. Ensure that you sound comprehensible and confident before you face the audience. Let your friends make suggestions.

5. Practice voice-modulation and work on being loud and clear enough. People sitting at the back should be able to hear you clearly.

6. Know your texts well in advance.  Preparation-one day-before the presentation spells
T-R-O-U-B-L-E.

7. If you need to write on the board, do so before starting the presentation in order to save time.

8. Finally, relax and  enjoy your own presentation/performance. Remember this is not a trial where you've to get all knotted up, but a platform for you to articulate your views on a chosen theme. Therefore, think  and be positive on the D-day.

Attention audience:

  • Please pay attention while your classmates make their presentations. Participate actively in the ensuing discussion.
  • Keep ur cell-phones in silent mode while the class is in session.

Best

Aysha
