Hassan has left a new comment on your post "Int'l Indian School Fee hike - Parents appeal to t...":

Dears,
The possibilities are that willingly or unwillingly we will end up paying the increased fees. So why not the leaders make an attempt to approach the decision makers to implement what they have offered?
We should intensify the foolow up for constituting PTA and MC at the earliest so that we parents can communicate more effectively.
Accountability is a must otherwise we will end up paying but nothing will come in return.

Dear Mr. Farooq Sab,

Noted your valuable comments. I believe it would be our final asylum to seek the help of supreme court in India. Anyway, let us wait how the parents here in Jeddah are responding to this fee-hike. We have seen a lot of organizations, whom were in media before with this subject are going back to their shed deserting the parents in dismay.  Yesterday I have  noted a report in the newspaper that our CG is also helpless in fee hike issue since the consulate is separated from school.  What a pathetic situation of Indian !   The Ambassador is also saying that  he is not the responsible for this fee hike. .. So who is behind this fee hike. .. Do you believe the School is going to execute any of their promises in pretext of this fee hike.

Today morning some of our representatives met the Consul General of India, whose report will be posted by them soon. We are working to get a result.

Regards

Dear all,
We are proud to an Indian but see what a hopeless situation we are. We submitted our petition to the prime minister of India (as the politicians say – I don’t know whether it is reached him or not) complaint each and every political leaders visited in Saudi Arabia, visited and discussed to the higher body of Indian Govt. in Saudi Arabia…… but still the attitude of Indian school remain unchanged.
I am thinking in a different way……. That all the leaders and so called white collars (even ISPAF) have a hidden agenda behind this.
See the comment of an ISPAF executive member posted in ISPAF mail group -white washing the school behavior - we can say this is the official voice of ISPAF
“ISPAF had requested several time that PTA to be done at the start of academic year rather than just at the time of collecting result. Now when the school authorities (Principal, VP & HMs) came for that, should we appreciate or should try to pull their lugs. We all want everything to be according to our convenience. Teachers should come and sit at night to receive a few more parents. Any father or mother, who is interested to meet their children will find time, even if it is on working days.

There was a PTA for Xth grade on Friday night hours in boys session a couple of weeks back. Attendance was still poor. I was feeling pitty to the teachers, who were sitting at night in the school and waiting for parents.

One more thing, let us keep in mind. Teachers have also got families. Is it wise them to come and sit in this school during evening hours. Let the school authorities choose the time slot. Those, who think meeting teachers of their parents has some priority, they will come. Other with other priorities will find excuses.

There is hidden Agenda. Let us try to appreciate them for arranging PTA, and encourage them to arrange more such meetings.”
If Ambassador, CG, Indian school and higher board are telling they can’t do anything regarding the fee hike, then we parents have to move our self. So please try to arrange a public program and inform school authorities also that we are campaigning against them.
If I say anything wrong please correct it.
Offering all the support from my side.

Dear Organisers,

I like the suggestion given by Mr. Farooq. To add to it my advise is that take the consensus of all parents in the group and if they are ready then hire a legal advisor to file the petition very soon. Simultaneously calculate the expenses and divide into all like minded parents equally. For this we can create an account (or use someone's account) for "This Cause (Fee hike) Only" on some one resposible person's name and collect the fund and utilise it for legal expenses.

I think we have to move ahead soon and take the concrete steps otherwise once this month (second month of fee hike) passes everone will get use to of it and loses the interest as well.

Also kindly let us know whether do we need to pay this months fee or to hold as per your earlier email, please clarify.

Mohammed Abdul Baseer

Dear Mr. Abdullah,

I feel we took a concrete step towards our focus i.e. protesting against fee hike and to congratulate the members who spared their valuable time and meet with CG.

I suggest if we work parellely by conducting a meeting with all social and cultural organisations/societies active in Jeddah and proposing a memo from the common stage and submit it to CG will be an added step towards our goal.

OR

Conducting a meeting with all above said organisations and convinced them to meet with CG in this fee hike matter and submit a memo seperately so that it will get pressure from all sources and may be by doing so we can hit the target.

Regards,
Mohammed Abdul Baseer

Dear All,

Glad to cogratulate the delegation team and all the members who are finding time to congratulate and appreciate the efforts.

I also inform our groups sincere thanks to Mr. Kassim Irikoor and MR.Mayinkutty for giving special importance by giving a good coverate in their dailies on proper time, I mean on the immediate day.

Also it increases our happiness to see the clap backs from our members like
Mr.Anil Narayan, Mr.Ahmed Koya P.V., Mr.Muralidharan, Mr.Ahmed Hussain, Mr.Saleem, Mr.Ishteyaq Ahmed, MR.Abdul Basheer  and so on.

Specially noted the criticised comment of Mr.Suneerkt regarding a few posting from some of our members supporting the fee hike, it seems as he is right.

Requesting all to enroll maximum members to our group to have maximum numbers to be with us for MAY BOYCOT

 bye the bye ,

Due to the submission of our referred complaint regarding fee hike during the parent teacher meeting on last Thursday 5th May 2011,  I was called by IISJ principal and have meeting on tue 10/5.

He opened the session saying that he has to inform me some clarification regarding the fee hike and added that there was no other option left except the fee hike or the cancellation of Higher secondary classes. As per him, while new teachers are not ready to come IISJ even at 3000 per month, some experienced and good teachers are shifting from our school to other schools or even to India because they are getting better salaries in other schools. He exampled some qualified teachers namely one Hanefa from kerala  who are planning to go back to re join in India.  If such posts are not filled by similar qualified or experts, it may affect the standard of our school.

I have opened the subject of the requirement of parents teachers body, an elected governing body, and the necessity of having control for Jeddah consulate on IISJ for which he skipped by saying that they are the diplomatic issues for which he is un able to answer. But I have told to him that it is his duty to inform the higher authority regarding the parents concern on this subject.

Also he have added that the expenses of the school is doubled like the girls schools leasing charge and they have compelled to hire building for our kg section.  I tried to counter this by saying the total number students 11200 revenue may over come all these expenses. I told him that as I do not have idea of the total staff, teaching and ministerial,  if given I can show the calculation for which he responded that this can be done by the accounts department. (recommend to have good calculator during next visit.

For my issue regarding the weak language usage of the students of IISJ, he told that the management and teachers are trying their best by issuing circulars, or by advising the students etc. , the students switch to their local languages once they reach the ground or buses.

Thank you all for the updates..

Let me congratulate Mr. Ashraf Unneen, Mr. Siraj Kollam, Mr. Abdul Basheer & Engr. Mohamed Baiju for taking their valued time and meeting CG on the 1st day of open forum.  Hope CG will take the matter to the higher level and give us a reply.

As we are boycotting May Fee, we have to expand our protests in all possible ways so that IISJ management will be forced to call for an urgent meeting to review their decision and reduce the increased fee.

More publicity should be given for “Boycott May fee” via children, friends, medias, etc..  in order to achieve this protest a big success.

Also, we did not receive any response yet from the Principal for the submitted memorandum, we have to think about submitting a reminder letter otherwise, the school management may consider the matter has no serious concerns.
