IISJ Parents’ VOICE TEAM met Consul General Mr. Fais Ahmad Kidwai at his office today, 11th May 2011 and submitted the copy of memorandum which was presented earlier to International Indian School Principal Mr. Syed Masood Ahmed on 25th of April 2011. Also, we expressed our serious concerns about the exorbitant FEE increase (40%) in International Indian School Jeddah which is unjust while the school already have a good budget. This Fee hike is effecting badly majority of average salaried INDIAN parents. We are not against a nominal increase in the fee to have a better education and infrastructure but being a community school IISJ went beyond the limits unilaterally without considering parents. It is disgraceful thing that, we are coming from a democratic country and we don’t have an elected Managing Committee for this community school. Also, there is no PTA for parents to interact with teachers / School. The CG cordially entertained us to hear all our concerns and he responded us that he will look in to our concerns positively and will do whatever he can since the school is not under direct administration of consulate now.
Mr. Siraj Kollam, Mr. Abdul Basheer CH, Engr. Mohamed Baiju and Mr. Ashraf Unneen were in the parents’ delegation to meet the CG.
Regards

Thank you all for the updates..
Let me congratulate Mr. Ashraf Unneen, Mr. Siraj Kollam, Mr. Abdul Basheer & Engr. Mohamed Baiju for taking their valued time and meeting CG on the 1st day of open forum. Hope CG will take the matter to the higher level and give us a reply.
As we are boycotting May Fee, we have to expand our protests in all possible ways so that IISJ management will be forced to call for an urgent meeting to review their decision and reduce the increased fee.
More publicity should be given for “Boycott May fee” via children, friends, medias, etc.. in order to achieve this protest a big success.
Also, we did not receive any response yet from the Principal for the submitted memorandum, we have to think about submitting a reminder letter otherwise, the school management may consider the matter has no serious concerns.
I offer all my possible support.
Regards,
Praseed

Dear All,
Glad to cogratulate the delegation team and all the members who are finding time to congratulate and appreciate the efforts.
I also inform our groups sincere thanks to Mr. Kassim Irikoor and MR.Mayinkutty for giving special importance by giving a good coverate in their dailies on proper time, I mean on the immediate day.
Also it increases our happiness to see the clap backs from our members like
Mr.Anil Narayan, Mr.Ahmed Koya P.V., Mr.Muralidharan, Mr.Ahmed Hussain, Mr.Saleem, Mr.Ishteyaq Ahmed, MR.Abdul Basheer and so on.
Specially noted the criticised comment of Mr.Suneerkt regarding a few posting from some of our members supporting the fee hike, it seems as he is right.
Requesting all to enroll maximum members to our group to have maximum numbers to be with us for MAY BOYCOT
bye the bye ,
Due to the submission of our referred complaint regarding fee hike during the parent teacher meeting on last Thursday 5th May 2011, I was called by IISJ principal and have meeting on tue 10/5.
He opened the session saying that he has to inform me some clarification regarding the fee hike and added that there was no other option left except the fee hike or the cancellation of Higher secondary classes. As per him, while new teachers are not ready to come IISJ even at 3000 per month, some experienced and good teachers are shifting from our school to other schools or even to India because they are getting better salaries in other schools. He exampled some qualified teachers namely one Hanefa from kerala who are planning to go back to re join in India. If such posts are not filled by similar qualified or experts, it may affect the standard of our school.
I have opened the subject of the requirement of parents teachers body, an elected governing body, and the necessity of having control for Jeddah consulate on IISJ for which he skipped by saying that they are the diplomatic issues for which he is un able to answer. But I have told to him that it is his duty to inform the higher authority regarding the parents concern on this subject.
Also he have added that the expenses of the school is doubled like the girls schools leasing charge and they have compelled to hire building for our kg section. I tried to counter this by saying the total number students 11200 revenue may over come all these expenses. I told him that as I do not have idea of the total staff, teaching and ministerial, if given I can show the calculation for which he responded that this can be done by the accounts department. (recommend to have good calculator during next visit.
For my issue regarding the weak language usage of the students of IISJ, he told that the management and teachers are trying their best by issuing circulars, or by advising the students etc. , the students switch to their local languages once they reach the ground or buses.

Dear Parents,
Those who utilized the first chance to meet C.G, from the side of parents – M/s. Ashraf, Siraj, Baiju, Abdul Basheer etc. – done a great job.
Continued efforts are un avoidable in subjects like fee reduction to the lowest possible level, form PTA which is very much essential to have a healthy relation between parents & School, monitor the proposed developments in school etc. All parents to support the representatives morally & exercise every possible efforts to achieve these goals.
I congratulate the above team & all others who utilized their time and energy on behalf of the parents of IICJ.
Ismail

Dear Members,
Congratulation to all the members who spare their valuable time to submit a memo to CG, hope CG will forward this to the concerned persons.
As our Embassy or Consulate is raising their hands by simply saying that we are no more involve in the functioning of school, so It’s my suggestion it is better if we meet and submit the memo to Dr. Kareemuddin (New Jeddah Clinic Hospital- Medinah Road) who is the member of the higher board and also a responsible person for the Indian schools in the kingdom.
Thanks & Best Regards,
Moiz

Dear all,
· No proper response from the Principal!
· CG has no involvement!
· Since Dr. Kareemuddin is the decision maker (even though he is not a parent), the suggestion from Mr. Moiz is appropriate.
Thanks

Dear Parents,
Let a delegation meet Dr. Kaleemudeen and present our grievances in person. Let us see his response. Can anyone obtain an appointment from him?
