Dear IISJ Parents,

Below email is self explanatory to notice the actions taken by International Indian School - Riyadh. Appreciate Riyadh parents for their bold steps. Wish them all success.

I talked to Mr. Fareed Siddique in Riyadh and he wants Jeddah, Riyadh & Dammam parents move together against school autocratic administration.

Subject: Fw: [focus] IMPORTANT DECISION TAKEN AT THE IISR PARENTS AND WELL WISHERS FORUM MEETING

Dear IISR parents and IPWF members,

I wish to convey an important decision taken at the first general meeting
of IISR Parents' and well-wishers' meeting.

The Forum has unilaterally decided NOT to pay the increased tuition fee, as
the fee hike decision was taken by an illegal committee, without the
approval of a valid Management committee constituted as per the articles of
the IISR Charter, approved by the Saudi Ministry of Education.

Further, it has been decided that the parents, together with their family
members, will go to the IISR (boys section) on Saturday (14th May) at 12.00
Noon, and submit a petition to the School Principal, Mr. M.J. Siddiqui,
requesting him to freeze the fee hike with immediate effect.

All the IISR parents who attended the forum meeting yesterday (Thursday)
are requested to be there at the school at the above mentioned time. The
parents are also requested communicate this news to all the parents known
to them, so that maximum participation from the parents are ensured.

A committee was selected yesterday to co-ordinate with the process of
submission of the memorandum to the Principal. The following are the
committee members:

1. Mr.Fareed Siddique convener, Mobile No. 0555493775
2. Dr. Abdul Meeran, ( 0561326782)
3. Mr.Abid Khan (0535400244)
4. Mr.B.J.Shankar (0530013190
5. Mr.Abdul Majeed (0504457291)
6. Mr. Pradeep (0530574753)
7. Mr. Aseemullah Khan (0503783843)
8. Mr. Shibu Pathanapuram (0508505629)

The parents are requested to communicate with the committee members in case
of any queries.

Thanks and best regards,

Mohan John
General Convener (0507202924)

Dear Ashraf and team,

First of all appreciate your visit to CG and your strive for justice.

The "IISJ ParentsTeam" were requesting from the beginning the involvement of the political organizations.  Each one is trying to do their own behalf but until today a coordinated action plan was not taken.

The political organizations were having their own excuses like, election etc., but now the results are also over, so it is the high time for an action plan.  Each of the political organization have done their part - submitted the memorandum to the Principal/visited ministers etc. but they should follow up the matter and get a concrete solution for this issue.

If they cant move on an issue which is affecting thousands of Indian parents in KSA, then what we are expecting from them??

Unless and until a common platform is made for this purpose and parents unite under that for bold actions - the school authorities will not change their mind.

Thanks and Regards,

A.Nasar

Thanks Ashraf for posting the action taken by IISR, It is informative and thought provoking news for IISJ parents. We should awake and act in a team. Well done that Mr. Ashraf already spoke with Mr.Fareed Siddique convener of Riyadh school parent’s forum.

*To ismail, Mr.Baseer, Mr.moiz, Syed Aslam and the others

Best suggestion to meet Dr. Kaleemuddin. Sure it should be considered seriously, better to make arrangement to meet him at an earliest date.

* We all support the view of Moahmmed Abdul Baseer to form a common platform joining with all organizations of Jeddah or to work separate for common goal, cooperating with all.

By the way I suggest to send  small slips with our wards to be handed over to their class mates to invite their parents for joining our email group and visit iisjblog and post their comments. Awaiting your comments on this point.

Dear all,

Riyadh parents are moving in right direction. Why can't we?

At the beginning of this protest, it was my (many others also) suggestion to
come together in front of IISJ on April 12th, as the school was opening
fully on that day. But, nothing happened!

Now, we are looking at Riyadh parents!

Bashir

Dear Parents,

We believe a disorganized protest will not fetch any fruitful result as we expected. The outburst of Riyadh parents’ rage on principal is natural since the so called higher board authorities use them as a tool.  However, it was a good message to the authorities. In Jeddah, on the day of school opening,  the authority had prepared huge police security in front of the school. Who will be ready to move against the police rules in KSA with protest, strike etc...!! So we control ourselves is much better than controlling by ‘them’.

It is worthy to mention that before proceeding with any PROTEST, we need to have analyzed plan of action.

We met Principal and CG and submitted our memorandum. The remaining person to be approached is Higher Board member for which our team is looking for convenient date & time. We will ask the leaders all organizations including ISPAF, JKF, Fraternity forum etc.. to know their stand on moving with a protest BOYCOTT FEE Month etc.. After that we will assemble parents (including this email group) to inform the status and to execute our action plan. (Any member can recommend their proposal for an action in the group, but would be valid after completing the above steps).

This is our idea regarding an action plan in this subject. If anybody has better idea, please share it with us.

Dear Abdulla and all others,

Please read the attached paper cutting.

First, the security have not allowed the parents to enter the school premises.  But the parents forced and entered.

Secondly, Principal was not ready to meet the parents.  But, the parents decided not to leave without meeting him.  At last he agreed to meet them.

If Riyadh parents (including ladies) can gather and force the security to enter the school, and stay until meeting the Principal, at last the Principal agreed to discuss the matter further…..

Why IISJ parents can’t do this?

important point to be noted:

The Principals in Jeddah and Riyadh are saying the decision to increase fees was taken by the Higher Board.   If so, why the Principal signed and issued the circular?  Why not the Higher Board signed?

Regards,

Bashir

Mr. Ashraf

Its unfortunate that you term this fully organized approach of IPWF in Riyadh, that was very successfull in its own way, as disorganized. I reject your statement as non-sense, kindly bear with me for your fruitless attempt to de-rail a very natural movement.

The fruit of this meeting was in itself; Eg. The so called Higher Board was proved non existant and imaginary body being used as an excape goat by the Principals, serving their vested intrests.

Mr. Ashraf, your attempt to scare the Parents and the Well-Wishers, by using the words as "Heavy Police" etc failed even as he wrote them here. Unfortunate we do nothing illigal here, as we are most democtatic in Nature and very peacefull in approach. No Police wil stop you if you all go there with your families, all hands-in and hands-joined.

Mr. Ashraf, its OK to involve all your organizations and leaders, you are most wellcome to do so. But you cannot boycott the fees. This is a community school, it will collapse if you boycott the fees. We are protesting against the fees hike - we are NOT boycotting the fees, please its worthwhile to note this too.

Thanks Mr. Ashraf for your understanding and please co-operate with the movement, instead of trying to de-rail it. Be assured that the Police will do nothing if you come with your families.

While appreciating the view of Mr.Fareed to act at an immediate effect, we should agree that an organized planned move will definitely give better result than an unorganized. That is only brother Ashraf suggested but nothing done to de rail, who is a forefront guide to our group. Joining with some political or social (Indian) group will surely strengthen our group. So we all should try to get support from maximum numbers of our organizations. While going through the lines of Ashraf, we can understand he never mentioned that IPWF is disorganized but he appreciated IPWF done the great and why can’t IISJPARENTSVOICE do the same or more joining with more groups to strengthen the move.  Kindly request all to judge it on its own sense. TEAM = Together Effort Achieve More.

At the same time, we support the view of Mr.Fareed that no one may block us while we try to visit the principal of our school ?? peacefully in a democratic way, So we can go ahead.

Fee boycott is a better solution that we learned from our freedom fighters and it is proved that it will have good effect. So we can go ahead with our plan to BOYCOTT MAY 2011. So together we can move

Regards

Abdullah

Dear Nizam Saab,

Actually Jeddah Parents are totally upset regarding the subject of fee hike.  But no one there to advise them that how can we protest against this subject.    We are welcoming you and Mr. Fareed to advise us.  But I cannot agree with Mr. Fareed, as he was saying that because of the boycott of fees, the school will collapse.  We are not boycotting but holding for one or two months to correct them from their wrong path.

Gulf Parent Board is a good thinking.

Dear Mr. Fareed,

We are all struggling for a noble cause*.  It’s unfortunate that you misunderstood  me  and got a wrong impression due to a word ‘disorganized’ .

What I want to say  to group members that many memorandums were already submitted  to IISJ Principal by different groups and organizations. But NO POSITIVE RESPONSE YET.  So, all these parents groups and organizations  must be organized in protesting with an action plan like BOYCOTT FEE MONTH etc..   It doesn’t mean that what Riyadh people done is a disorganized protest.

Your (IPWF)  way of  going to school with family members is a  result oriented movement and we consider it as heroic action from the side of parents in Riyadh.

Dear all,

Another example of the irresponsibility of IISJ Management  (PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT!!!)

Attached are the question papers given today for English FA1 examination for the 10th class in Boys Section.  There were two types of question papers in 10th classes.  I have marked it as QUESTION I  and QUESTION II

There was an English teacher in 10th class, Mr.  Rashid.  With the permission of IISJ Management, he went on vacation 3 weeks before.  He completed only 1½ lessons and after that there was no teacher assigned to complete the remaining portions in his classes.  In this class, the QUESTION I issued for the examination, covering only the questions from that 1½ lessons.

The QUESTION II is the questions covering from 3 lessons, issued to other classes.

Please note that this is not LKG or UKG.  This has done in higher classes.  IISJ Management was taking it as very silly matter and not given any attention to find a teacher for the 10th class for the last 3 weeks and making mockery to the Examinations.

IISJ PRINCIPAL IS EAGER TO HIKE THE FEES, BUT NOT GIVING THE MINIMUM REQUIRED ATTENTION TO THE CLASSES!!!  IS HE NOT AWARE WHAT IS GOING ON THERE?

Dear Parents,

Still, we are sleeping.  Our kids are suffering!!

Dear Friends,

Please focus on quality of teaching in Classes like Plus 1 and Plus 2
which have been deteriorated alarmingly bad to worst. This is like our
Teachers purposely doing
as a revenge.

There is no need to waste time now for less priority matters like
camping, award giving, etc.

Our Priority now is improving the quality of teaching and Fee Hike
should be revoked effective forthwith ! What we, all ISPAF TEAM are
doing in this direction ???

You have already some parrents in mind.. (choosen). and you want to
make your own decision on the platform of all parents
platform..ISPAF...
