IISJ Fee Hike / peaceful objection or easy surrender ?

We need to extend our campaign to other regional parents too as I can see news about IISJ fee hike protest is published on Malayam news paper only. As it is a joint objective and benefit to all Indian parents of IISJ therefore needs to publish the same news in Urdu and English local news papers as well to let everyone aware of our protest and to get more parents involve in our on going campaign.
I suggest, the parents who are connected to other news agencies or known to persons working there should come forward and try to get publish our views regularly on other newsdaylies too will be an added advantage to our campaign.

As per above report, Mr. Mayinkutty of Malayalam News is true on his assumption. Almost all organizations came in the Media as Parentsï؟½ advocates & defenders of this unjustifiable fee hike now sadly surrendering to their vested interest and going back to their shed deserting the parents in frustration.
However, IISJ Parents voice team is still optimistic to wage a peaceful campaign if parents are ready to support us. Our team have scheduled to meet Dr. Kareemuddin on next Saturday to know his stand. If you can, please delay paying your May fee as a part of our objection. If the majority of parents are ready to participate with our peaceful objection against this fee hike, we guarantee parent victory over this exorbitant fee hike of school.
For your information, please note, due to this exorbitant fee hike in IISJ, every month our school is collecting an extra money of SR. 654,655.00 (See below table, which is showing the strength of last year and now it has gone up to a total of 11500 students). And Principal is reiterating that this money is only set for the remuneration of salary increase of teachers. Let us wait how much they are going to pay to teachers..! As far as we know, there are 400 teachersï؟½ an average increment of SR.1637 (including BS+Acco.+TA+EOSB) can be expected ?

We are not against the development like new premises, reduced class strength, better lab, better library, proper play ground, decent transport, hygiene toilets, shaded play area etc. We are not against decent salary for the teaching staff. But why the school authority (Higher Board & Principal..) failed to convince the parents their action plan. Is it required such a huge fee hike for salary increase of teachers. Why not uploading current financial status of school in the website? Why not a PTA and elected Managing Committee for this school, even the Saudi Ministry charter for it. Despite of our many inquiries like these with Principal and CG, we didnï؟½t get any satisfactory answers.
Now it is parentsï؟½ choice. Peaceful Objection or Easy Surrender. If you want a joint effort in objection, please join with us.
Otherwise meet the principal & higher board member as soon as possible, individually or with your family or as a group 2 to 3 parents, before ending up this tempo of fee hike.

Dear Parent,
We met IISJ Higher Board Member Dr. Kareemuddin at his office yesterday, 21st May 2011 and submitted the copy of memorandum. He admitted that discontent of parents is expected since the school do not have PTA & MC now to express parents concern. Being the higher board member, he will exert full efforts to make a PTA & MC in the school as he formed it in 1997.
Below are some of the points of our talk with Dr. Kareemuddin:
Q. Could you explain the structure of IISJ higher board and how it is formed ?
A. It is a body of 15 members (10 Major school Principals, 3 selected members from IISJ, IISD & IISR, 1 each from Indian Embassy and Saudi Ministry). Ambassador is the one selecting the Higher Board Chairman. As per the new rule, the all Indian school in Saudi will be under one governing body.
Q.We believe the Fee hike plan is not well studied before implementing.
A.Higher Board chairman and 5 school headmasters have thoroughly studied this fee hike for 3 to 5 months before the implementation. If no fee hike, the competent teachers will drop out and the school will collapse slowly.
Q.No transparency for financial records of school for many years.
A.I agreed, the financial statements required to be announced. He will ask for why it is not.
Q.Why not a PTA and MC, even though Saudi Ministry charter for it.
A.The lack of PTA and MC is the main reason for all misunderstanding of parents. Very soon, there will be a managing committee in the school. It will be an selected committee since Saudi Law is not permitting an election now.
Q.What the authorities going to do with surplus amount accumulated in the past.
A.It would be used for new school land and building . Negotiation is going on to acquire a land to build new school in BOT basis for which huge financial support needed.
Q.No proper quality evaluation for teachers. Many complaints that some teachers are very poor in their profession.
A.Yes proper quality evaluation must be started immediately. In case if you know any teachers are hired not in line with standard criteria of qualification, please give their name.
Mr. Noushad Adoor, Mr. Zulfiqar Verasha, Mr. Mohamed Salahuddin, Mr. Ismail Mankarathodi, Mr. Abdul Majeed Karalikkattil and Mr. Ashraf Unneen were present in the team to meet Dr. Kareemuddin.
