ome nice events lined up this december

We can plan to view them if there are enough people interested

1. Geminids meteor shower Dec 12, 13, 14 - Can go upto 300 meteors / hr  (see http://www.timeanddate.com/astronomy/meteor-shower/geminids.html )

2. Satellite passes overhead multiple times- esp. the ISS (goes to -3 mag Dec 20th onwards) and the Iridium flares (goes to -6 mag!!) - See http://www.heavens-above.com by setting your location to IISc.

3. Mercury, Jupiter and Venus overhead

4. Supermoon Dec 14th

anyone had any success on sighting meteors through the thick cloud cover ?? !! :P
