Board Meeting

At last night's board meeting the main topic was ice conditions and next steps.

Pete Weber and Gordon Kunhnley have traveled around the center of the state drilling holes in lakes.

What has been found is that the ice is at this time not changing in depth but losing the snow cover.

Pete Weber has started conversations with resorts located around Isle at the East end of Mille Lacs Lake. There were positive reactions from these resorts about hosting events around them.

Big Sandy Lodge, they too have given us positive input about events there.

The common remarks from the resort owners are that the outlook to the end of February going into March would be the best bet for ice conditions for the races.

The board also reviewed the February weather forecast and we can agree on that.

It was decided to continue working with these locations for events in the last weekend in Feb first weekend in March. Once we have conditions improved and a location known the board will start calling on the members to get commitments for attending these events.

The resorts we are working with all do have overnight accommodations for the racers use.

Next board meeting is Feb 19th. Will send out updates of that meeting also.
