Dear students,

The 40th year of IIPM has been a landmark year for your institution. The Supreme Court of India quashed AICTE's powers over all management institutes in India. Consequently, IIPM won its cases against AICTE in the Honorable Delhi High Court which reiterated that management education doesn't come under the purview of AICTE. These landmark judgements in your institute's favour have given back to IIPM the right to impart Diploma programmes -- something that IIPM had stopped from 1998 onwards!

Thus, from 2014 admissions, the IIPM programme is no more leading to the award of certificates; there will also not be any university association for the award of university degrees. From 2014 onwards, IIPM students will again get a Post Graduate Diploma in Planning and Entrepreneurship, Post Graduate Diploma in Management and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management respectively, depending upon how many credits are cleared by the student. After getting the best of education at IIPM, this is what would give the final thrust to IIPM students in their pursuit of fantastic careers. The fact that your institute was not awarding diplomas earlier was in fact a reason why, despite knowing the superiority of IIPM programmes, some of your friends might have joined other institutions. A PGDM is a norm worldwide for all private B-schools. In India, it is IIPM which fought for the same and got this right.

It's a time for all of us to rejoice. In the spirit of our achievements, after giving massive scholarships as a part of our 40th year celebrations to hundreds of students and introducing special girl-student scholarships, your institute is pleased to announce another extremely special offer for all our students who have joined IIPM till 2013, including our alumni, to enable them to upgrade from the present award of IIPM certificates to the IIPM PG Diploma.
While students who take admission from 2014 onwards in the IIPM PG Diploma programme would need to pay an increased fee of INR 1.75 lac, we are pleased to upgrade your current IIPM certificate programme to the IIPM PG Diploma at a special fees of INR 1.25 lac. However, this offer lasts only till the 21st of October 2013, post which all students wanting to upgrade their certification to the IIPM PG Diploma will have to pay an additional INR 1.75 lac only. We strongly recommend that students upgrade to the IIPM Post Graduate Diploma instead of continuing in the IIPM certificate programme. If it were left to us, we would have made this upgrade mandatory as this will surely be a great boost to your career in the long run and our Placements team will be able to garner better packages for our existing IIPM students who upgrade to the IIPM PG Diploma programme.

Therefore, we once again strongly recommend and insist that all IIPM students getting any kind of credential from IIPM, now onwards must opt for the IIPM PG Diploma instead of the IIPM certificate so that there is no chance of any disadvantage during the placement season for any student. This will necessarily be an added boon for the future career growth of every IIPM student. I am not in favour of paying 1.25 Lakhs more. They should give us the diploma free of cost.. Suggestions?

Hi frnz, I also agree with all of u...they may nt be gettng admissions dats why they hav found a new way to get money from alumni..there is a group on facebook with name of IIPM helpline..der also so many alumni hav taken stand for this..and planning to sue IIPM for this..I think we all need to unite At this time to get our right

What nonsense IIPM is doing . Why should we pay . It like buying something and years later shopkeeper come and say nono that is of no use , you buy this and give me more money. I am truly against this .

How can you alter if something has happened in past . Only way to mint money .

now they themselves are making it clear that the degrees we are holding are not valid anymore. i'm just getting afraid, if they send any letters to our home regarding this upgrades.

i worked with top companies in India so far, everyone is interested to know what i can do but never interested in what the degrees i own. my immediate boss is still a bachelor degree holder , i got subordinates with PG certified by AICTE, i got colleagues with Exec-MBA from IIM's, if i ask them any progression about this, they put their tongue at one corner in the mouth and smile.

i'm ignoring this so called Diwali offer and moving on....Best of Luck . Bye Bye.

As we all know, after 5years No company weighs more to your college name. Only Past performance weighs more.

Nd I am not interested in paying that amount.

They should issue the degree to the alumni without charging any Rupee.

Better we forward these mails to the HIGH COURT JUDGES, Who have given order in favour of IIPM.
