*JOB DESCRIPTION - Role and Responsibilities*
India bureau is looking for a dynamic reporter to help cover
political and
general news. The job entails writing clearly about India's
complicated
politics for our financial clients at a time when international
interest in
Asia's third biggest economy is at a peak. The reporter will also be
expected to write about environmental, health, business and lifestyle
stories in a colourful manner for a growing consumer media market.
The job
involves subbing stringer copy from across India. A team player and
ability
to work long and often unsocial hours is a must. There will also be
possible
trips to conflict areas where experience of hostile environments is
a plus.

Prior knowledge of Indian politics and experience of general news
reporting
is highly desirable.
A strong writer with sound judgement of what makes news for our core
audience, and the ability to explain it clearly and elegantly. A
