Dear Students,

In order to secure our WiFi system we are implementing mandatory authentication of each laptop that is allowed to access our network. This authentication will require the unique MAC (Media Access Control) address also known as your machine's physical address.

In order to find this code follow the following steps on your Windows Vista Laptops:

1. Start --> Run --> Type "cmd" --> Press OK

2. At the cursor Type ipconfig/all --> Press Enter

3. Under the heading "Wireless LAN Adapter Wireless Network Connection"
(You might need to scroll up to find this)

 Look for "Physical Address"
Note down this code CAREFULLY exactly as it is.
It will look something like this 00-1F-E1-7A-CB-E7
This is the MAC address of your machine.

4. Email it to mac...@iilm.edu from your IILM email ID.

Once it is entered in our WiFi authentication database your laptop will be authorized to use the system.

In case you need help, I am attaching a file with screen shots for your information. Still if you need assistance, contact one of the IT staff persons.

Please understand that we will be enabling this system very soon and if your laptops's mac address in not registered, you will not be able to use the WiFi system.
