IIIF 3D Community Group - Thursday 7th September

Dear All,

Please join us for our next 3D Community Group meeting tomorrow - Thursday, 7th September at 5pm UK/9am Pacific/6pm CET. (https://everytimezone.com/s/6bf08077).

We'll be having an 'open mic' session, to ask those interested to share any projects, experiments or helpful discoveries - and we also can review any 3D-related news or earlier presentations (e.g. for important developments, etc.).

Among developments to discuss are a few recently shared by Tom Flynn (Sketchfab):

• https://www.loc.gov/preservation/resources/rfs/design3D.html (the new US Library of Congress 10th edition of Recommended Formats Statement - RFS - which includes some 3D)
• https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/realityscan (the new photogrammetry app from Epic, part of the RealityCapture/Unreal Engine family, with easy upload to Sketchfab)

We also have a proposal to move our pattern of meeting, from Thursday every 4 weeks (current pattern) to the 3rd Thursday of the month (perhaps easier to remember).  If you have any comments or preferences, please do share (even if you cannot attend this week's meeting).
