IIPImage Server Version 1.3 Released

For those of you using IIPImage as your IIIF image server, you may be interested to know that I've just released version 1.3 of the server. This is a major new version containing a whole host of new features, major performance enhancements, optimizations and numerous bug-fixes.

New features include:

• Optimized support for JPEG input images
• New output formats: TIFF and AVIF
• New fast low latency pass-through mode
• IIIF Enhancements
• Improved metadata support

Debian or Ubuntu IIPImage users may be interested to know that we now have an up-to-date apt repository from which the latest version of iipsrv can be installed / updated.

Just setup the repository, then do an apt install iimage-server and you will have the latest version of iipsrv up and running with a full high-performance IIIF v3 endpoint available out of the box.
