mirador - annotations ?

Hello everybody, I am interested in how does the annotating in mirador work? Is mirador changing the manifest or where it is saving the annotations ? Also I will be very thankful if you give me a demo where the annotating is working.

I am in the middle of writing up some annotation documentation here: https://github.com/IIIF/mirador/wiki/Configuring-Annotations-in-Mirador. It is just an outline at the moment. 

In the meantime, you can have a look at some of the comments on this topic from the Mirador-tech mailing list here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mirador-tech/gttkyruRsmc. In general, this is a better place to ask Mirador-specific questions. You can also see if you can get some live help on the gitter channel.

In summary, it requires a backend. The forum post above has some information about setting one up.

We'll have a more thorough guide up soon. Thanks for your interest!

There is a demo up at Harvard, but I believe it is only for their internal development purposes. I'll let Rashmi respond as to whether she can make that available. The backend software has been slightly lagging behind front-end development, but we hope to have a public demo annotation server up at Stanford fairly soon. If you are really hankering to try it out immediately use this index.html from a development branch which has a link to Princeton's temporary store, but don't expect to rely on it.
