Mirador Viewer Integration with DSpace using IIIF

Hello everyone,

We are trying to integrate Mirador as a IIIF viewer in DSpace.

Our understanding is:

• IIIF is the framework

• Mirador is the viewer

• DSpace should provide the IIIF manifest

However, we are facing issues with the Mirador integration not working properly.

Current setup:

• Repository: DSpace 8

• Goal: Integrate Mirador viewer to display images using IIIF

• IIIF Image Server: (Cantaloupe / not sure – please advise)

Issues we are facing:

• Mirador is not integrate with DSpace

• IIIF manifest URL is either not generated or not rendering in Mirador

• Unclear configuration steps between DSpace, IIIF, and Mirador

Questions:

1. What is the recommended way to integrate Mirador with DSpace?

2. Does DSpace natively support IIIF manifests, or is a custom setup required?

3. Which IIIF Image Server works best with DSpace (Cantaloupe/IIPImage)?

4. Are there any sample configurations or documentation available for this integration?

Any guidance, documentation, or examples would be greatly appreciated.
